Tortola is the largest archipelago island of the BVI.  It is approximately 22 square miles in length and home to some of the most stunning white sand beaches, lush mountains, hidden harbors, and sweeping plains. Tortola is a definite must stop on your destination adventure. There is a myriad of things to do and see. 

You can start with a hike at the highest elevation point on the island which is Mount Sage at a whopping 1,740 feet above sea level. The view from this mountain top is simply breathtaking and majestic in wonder.  After you have had your hike, you might like to go to Cane Garden Bay and experience the oldest distillery in the Caribbean; Callwood’s distillery.  Callwood’s goes back about 2 centuries and carries the “old Caribbean look” in how it is situated.  Should rum be one of your drinks of choice, you can sample 5 varieties of the best kind for a fee – but be careful with this – its potency is enough to make you do – “jaw dropping things”.

Since you are already in Cane Garden Bay – enjoy the beauty that is Cane Garden Bay Beach which is one of our highly rated beaches on the island.  Here you will find a hub of famous restaurants; Myetts, Quitos, and Bananas to name a few as well as live music, beautiful sunsets, warm seas, and friendly people. This is one of the tourist hot spot stops; however, if you are not into all that activity go over to Brewer’s Bay Beach – more sedate – good snorkeling and great fun!

If you want to go shopping the central part of the island and the capital- Road Town – will be the place for you. You can find souvenirs to take back with you along with multicolored, eye catching, apparel.  You can also stop by the Botanic Garden and experience an array of flowers and plants and tropical birds that make this garden their home.
